Review > La Mer Moisturisers, Creme de La Mer

My reviews on the products are very personal, and I, myself, am not affiliated with the company producing the products. I always do my best to keep my review very neutral, yet, friendly and more focused on results after using the products rather than ingredients or benefits advertised by the company. Although this enabled me to tell whether the product's description turns out to be fool- proof or not, for various personal skin needs/issues, I cannot guarantee that the products which worked on my skin will definitely work on yours.

I made a comparasion post on the luxury skin care brands, so if you are interested or if you are new to luxury skin care brands, make sure you check it out ;).

Since I was young, I quite enjoyed digging in to my sister's beauty cabinet! (Oopsie XD. Hey, we all went through this, right? I was just curious :P ) And guess what I first found then? :P That's right, Creme de La Mer! Well done >_<. I was 16, and I never saw such a thick cream in my life, so I first thought it was some kind of hand cream or body cream. LOL. Silly me! So I sort of started using it secretly on my hands or elbows ( just tiny bit, otherwise she would notice! Shhhhhh:P). I didn't question myself at all since it hydrated my hands and elbows very well and I was in love with the scent!! XD.  I had only used sunscreens and eye cream at that point, so I didn't have any any idea that expensive cream was for my face! Haha, that's right, this is how I first discovered La Mer!

To be honest, I didn't really have acne until I started using full makeup products since 21. I was very confused about my on and off acnegenic skin that I started to see my dermatologist on a regular basis. I was on a very low dosage of Roaccutane on and off, and you really need to hydrate your skin very well with gentle ingredients. So that's when I fell in love with La Mer. Back then, I mostly used The Moisturising lotion for colder weather and The Oil Absorbing lotion for hot and humid weather (or during PMS) due to my skin condition. And it helped my skin get healthier to a certain extent. I'm not saying these products are a wonder for problem prone skin types, but they can certainly help along with other treatments or procedures that you go through (ONLY IF you don't have any other reactions to the products. Be aware, there are people who do react upon La Mer moisturisers).

My man has a genetically very sensitive skin (eczema), and he has been enjoying La Mer moisturisers for the past 4 years. He ( and I :P, that's right, we share XD ) uses Creme de La Mer and The Moisturizing Lotion, and they do calm and soothe his skin very well that they've improved his skin noticeably! Even he, himself notices and says "Wooo my sea kelp treatment!:P". Hahaha.

Although Sunleya Age Minimizing After Sun care by Sisley has been the my most used product during summer to soothe my skin, I have been using Creme de La Mer for a quick fix! It has a very thick balmy texture that you need to emulsify between your fingertips before applying, which I've always found it a pain to do -_- LOL. Because it leaves your skin with a masky feeling with deep hydration and glow, it's perfect as a makeup base (for dry/dehydrated skin though) and as a wind protector during harsh cold weather! I always feel that it guards my skin perfectly, so my skin feels safe (whether it's just my imagination or not XD). You can use it all over your face and body (it has been working fine on me, so why not!), so there you go, another multi-tasker!

If there are any other tips that I can give you, you should get a big one if you decide to buy one! Bigger = cheaper! The reason for that is that you can use the product for 24months once it's opened. So if you think that you're going to use it every day or very frequently, then get a biggest jar as you can. That saves you heaps of money! Another tip for you, I like to use the cream when I travel by plane. Although the cream is very thick and balmy, it's buildable. So I put a few layers on my face and neck, then wash off with water or wipe off with a warm flannel before getting off the plane. It works like a deep hydrating mask/protector, and I love it!
